We offer a complete
Oculoplastic department which does all cosmetic facial procedures and
skin cancers. Some of the procedures offered at the Ocala location
are complete face lifts, Dr. Burger is one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in the country. Unlike many surgeons who perform various types of eye surgery, Dr. Burger specializes in performing Refractive Eye Surgery. Dr. Burger has successfully performed more LASIK procedures than nearly every other LASIK surgeon in the country. In order to give central Florida residents another option for vision correction, Dr. Burger has arranged to perform LASIK in Lange Eye Care’s state of the art Laser Vision Correction Center. Thanks to Dr. Burger, The Center located in Gainesville, Florida has three different laser options. These three laser options, in addition to Dr. Burger’s extensive LASIK experience gives a much greater percentage of patients the chance to undergo laser vision correction procedures. In addition to being a Board Certified Optometric physician, Dr. Lange holds two Bachelor degrees, one in psychology and the other in physiological optics. Dr. Lange is one of a select group of optometric physicians to become a Certified Nutrition Specialist. Dr. Lange sits as chairman of the board of an ocular nutraceutical company (Fortifeye Vitamins) as well as chairman of three other eye care related companies, he also sits on the advisory board of multiple eye care companies and is deeply involved in nutritional research for the eyes. Dr. Lange has also been a clinical investigator for some of the largest contact lens companies. This qualifies him not only to address eye care issues, but also to analyze the psychological effects of vision disorders and the affect lifestyle and nutrition can have on them. After graduation from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Dr. Lange returned to his hometown for specialized training at the Eye Surgery Center of Louisiana and St. Charles Vision. While there, a demographic study of the country revealed that Marion County had one of the fastest growing geriatric populations in the country. In March of 1993, Dr. Lange relocated to Ocala and opened his first office. His patient base grew so
fast, he outgrew his office in the Gateway Plaza within 5 years.
In September 1999, Lange Eye Care and Associates opened their new
state-of -the-art 12,000 sq. Almost from his arrival in Florida, Dr. Lange had his eye on the Gainesville market. In 1995, he brought his patient education-centered philosophy to an office in the Oaks Mall. In July of 1999, he relocated to a brand new total eye care center in Butler Plaza West, next door to Target. This center also houses a state of the art LASIK surgical suite with two of the latest excimer lasers for all forms of refractive laser surgery.
In 2005, Dr. Lange opened the first Lange Eye Care Vision Outlet Center in Summerfield, Florida. Lange Eye Care decided there was a huge need for a Vision Outlet Eye Care Center in the area. The Lange Eye Care Vision Outlet Center has a state of the art eye care center with the latest technology to aid the doctors in diagnosing and treating diseases of the eye. Dr. Madeline Hernandez and Dr. Nathan Schramm are both seeing new patients and take emergency walk-ins at this location. In May of 2006, Lange Eye Care and
Associates opened a state of the art LASIK center in their Gainesville
office next to Target. The Gainesville LASIK Center offers two
different Lasers in order to treat a higher percentage of refractive

Kelli Meierhenry
becomes Director of Sales for Fortifeye Vitamins “We are excited to have Kelli on our team. In addition to her years in the entertainment industry Kelli spent the past 2 years in the Pharmaceutical industry. She will be focusing the marketing efforts of Fortifeye on a variety of markets including eye care professionals as well as the health and nutritional markets. Fortifeye was developed by Dr Michael Lange and a team of scientist and researchers. It was developed to offer the latest science based vitamins and nutrients for overall health and additional supplements targeted at eye health. Kelli will be working closely with Dr. Lange in the developmental stages of new lines of vitamins Fortifeye is bringing to market. Dr. Glenn Pieschke
"I enjoy interacting with patients on a daily basis." he said. "Helping them achieve better vision is why I enjoy my career. The first thing you do when you wake up is open your eyes and before you go to bed you close them. Everything in between is vision." Dr. Pieschke has served in the Air Force Reserves for 16 years and is now a major. He is currently chief of eye services at Patrick Air Force Base. This military background is beneficial because many of his patients are veterans who reside in the Villages. " We form a natural bond," he said. He and his wife, Pam, a dental assistant in Ocala, have been married for 20 years. They have two children: Max, 17 and Rachel, 15. Outside of his work, Dr. Pieschke enjoys triathlons and collecting and restoring classic cars from the 1950s and 1960s.
Dr. William Ramsay Dr. Ramsay received specialty training for Accelerated Orthokeratology and Precise Corneal Molding (1994), became a Certified VST®/Ortho-K Specialist (2004) via The Institute for Eye Research and is a Certified DreamLens® Specialist. He is also a Certified Prio® Prescribing Specialist (1994) for Computer Vision Syndrome testing, and a Certified Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS ) and Computer Workstation Ergonomics Specialist (2000). Dr. Ramsay became a Certified HydroOptix® (scuba dive mask) Dec-Pro Specialist (2003). Dr. Ramsay has participated as a Research Study Investigator for Johnson & Johnson/Vistakon's soft contact lenses. He is a published author of 29 medical/ocular-related and practice management articles. Dr. Ramsay is a sponsored speaker for many ophthalmic-related subjects. He has had two different case reports and photos featured on the magazine cover of two different issues of Contact Lens Spectrum (September 1993 & December 1994). Dr. Ramsay is a Professional Eye Care Consultant to eyeMaginations, Inc. software development company since 2001 and had an Editorial Board appointment for Inside EyeCare Technology OnLine virtual magazine and to Eyecare Technology magazine. He is a member of Johnson & Johnson/Vistakon "Speaker's Bureau". Dr. Ramsay was a featured physician in Southwest Florida Business People magazine. Dr. Ramsay's private practice in Ft. Myers, FL was one of six businesses in SW Florida nominated for the US Chamber of Commerce’s “Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative,” which seeks out and recognizes exemplary businesses across America (November 1993) and his office was also featured in a 20/20magazine article “Blueprints for Success” in August 1992. Dr. Ramsay is a Board Certified Optometric Physician, Florida, 1986, providing full-scope primary eye care: Glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, non-surgical care of the anterior and posterior segments, total case management for all types of contact lenses and pre-and post-operative Lasik and cataract care. Dr. Ramsay's Subspecialties include: Low Vision, Lacrimology/Dry Eye, Specialty Contact Lenses, Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) and Accelerated Orthokeratology/Corneal Molding/Vision Shaping Treatment.
Dr. Nathan Schramm
Dr. Schramm graduated from Nova Southeastern University and completed his internship training at Tianjin Eye Hospital in China and Liane Downtown Eye Associates in Jacksonville, FL. In addition to his doctorate in optometry, he also worked as a personal trainer and holds certifications with the American Council on Exercise and sports nutrition counseling. Additionally, he holds a bachelor's degree from both Rutgers University in New Jersey and Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was a contributing author and co-editor of multiple journal articles and textbooks. Dr. Schramm is becoming an accomplished writer, educator, lecturer, and radio personality. Dr. Schramm has taught other doctors about nutrition and eye care in China and throughout the United States at various eye doctor conventions. He is a frequent guest on Dr. Lange's radio show, Ask the Doctor. His charitable contributions include service as a medical missionary for the underserved in Peru and Trinidad. He is a member of the American Society for Nutrition and a member of the Ocular Nutrition Society. Dr. Schramm says, "Nothing gives me more satisfaction seeing my patients vision improving, especially when they were told by other doctors that there was no chance for improvement." "I am not a miracle worker, I just try to educate my patients in what their body needs and their body takes care of the rest. When the proper nutritional foundation is in place amazing things can happen." Building a "proper nutritional foundation" is not guess work for Dr. Schramm. He utilizes intracellular blood testing to determine nutritional deficiencies of over 30 different vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Intracellular blood tests and lipid profiles are especially important in macular degeneration patients. In the evenings, Dr. Schramm works out, plays volleyball, or mountain bikes. Dr. Edward J. Huggett, Jr.
Dr. Huggett received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Huston in Houston, Texas 1990. He trained at the Lighthouse for the Blind in Low Vision and Vision Rehabilitation and is presently the founder and director of the Low Vision clinic at St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs and at OT Rehab Solutions in Tampa. Dr. Huggett developed the Low Vision Clinic at the James Haley VA Medical Center in New Port Richey, Florida. Dr. Huggett’s expertise also expands to binocular vision treatment of eye muscle imbalances and tracking problems in patients of all ages. He is dedicated to vision therapy; creating programs and prescribing prescriptions designed to enhance cognitive processing for those with vision-related processing disorders. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1994 as their Team Eye Physician. Dr. Huggett's specialized training helped improve the visual acumen of these athletes. In 2003, Dr. Huggett took his expertise to Honduras with the Wings of Morning, a medical missionary team that provided free medical services and supplies to the people of Honduras. Opened a free eye clinic within the Clearwater Free Clinic, Clearwater, FL in 2008 serving the homeless and victims of domestic violence. Dr. Huggett’s enumerable contribution to community charities and many civic organizations providing assistance for people with severe vision loss identifies him as a modern humanitarian.

Alexis Rodriguez
Dr.
Alexis Rodriguez was born in Miami, Florida and has resided in the South
Florida area since finishing his training. He has a daughter which
resides in Miami. In May 1987, Dr. Alexis Rodriguez received his undergraduate degree at University of South Florida (Tampa) in Microbiology. He then attended Indiana – Purdue University. He earned his doctorate degree from Nova-Southeastern University in 1993. Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the Dade County Optometric Association and Board of Examiners of the State of Florida. He currently has an adjunct faculty positions in Illinois, Tennessee and Pennsylvania Colleges of Optometry. He is the optometric physician for the Philly’s baseball team and one of the many doctors that volunteer for the Special Olympics. When not busy commuting between his office in Miami and Lange Eye Care in Ocala, he enjoys biking, hiking and relaxing in Ocala where he resides.
Dr. Julie
Abraham She volunteered her time in many mission trips including third world countries. While on her rotation at the Tianjin Eye Hospital, she taught many courses to optometrists and ophthalmologists on nutrition, pediatrics, and vision therapy. She also finished her rotation at the Gainesville VA Hospital where she conducted low vision and primary care exams to the geriatric population. She specializes in geriatrics, ocular disease, and contact lenses. Dr. Abraham graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor's degree in Biology. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK and has lived in Dallas, TX for many years until she attended optometry school in 2005. Her parents are originally from south India. Her mother is a registered nurse and her dad is technician for a defense company. She also has a sister who just graduated with her MBA from Rice University in Houston, TX.
Dr.
Laurie Sicard Dr. Sicard is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Pinellas Optometric Association. She is a board certified optometric physician specializing in comprehensive eye care for all ages, including ocular disease, contact lenses and co-management. "My goal is to provide the highest level of care to every patient and believe in listening to an individuals concerns and addressing those concerns specifically. I enjoy getting to know patients, helping them see the best that they can and meeting their vision care needs." When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Sicard enjoys spending time with her husband Matt, and their two dogs. She also enjoys running, exercising, traveling and cooking.
Dr. Cathy
Dau Dr.
Dau completed an externship rotation with Center for Sight in Sarasota
which helped her develop strong clinical skills in diagnosing and
treating ocular disease. She also finished a rotation with Dr.
Richard Sorkin, an optometric pediatric specialist in St.
Petersburg. Dr. Dau has a special interest in pediatrics and
vision therapy.
During her education at Nova, she served as the
student liaison for the College of Optometrist in Vision Development
(COVD). She received the College of Optometrist in Vision
Development Award of Excellence for demonstrating strong interest and
clinical skills in the area of vision therapy.
An active member of the American and
Florida Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry and a
frequent volunteer with Special Olympics, Dr. Dau enjoys contributing to
her profession and community. Dr. Dau enjoys spending time with
each patient to help them become proactive about their health. She
believes vision is more than reading the eye chart and proper education
about nutrition and ocular health is essential to ensure a lifetime of
vision. Dr. Cathy Dau is originally from Tampa, Florida and has spent a majority of her life on the gulf waters. An avid bay area fisher, she loves inshore fishing with her family or deep sea fishing in the Keys. Dr. Dau also enjoys scrap booking, exercising and watching the local sports teams.
Dr.
Julie-Ann Beckwitt Dr. Beckwitt practiced in partnership with her sister Diana for more than 15 years in the family’s optometric offices, a practice which spanned three generations. Julie’s grandfather Charles founded the first optometric practice in Miami ca 1910 and 47 years later her father Jules established an office in the Florida Keys. Throughout her career, Dr. Beckwitt has sought to widen her range of professional expertise through interaction and affiliations with other eye care professionals. Her current professional memberships include American Optometric Association, Southern Council of Optometry, Florida Optometric Association and North Central Florida Optometric Society. When not in the office, Julie can often be found with her horse or participating in her passion for all things equestrian.
Dr.
Jeannie Hu Dr. Hu is an active member and treasurer of the North Central Florida Optometric Society. She is also active in the community, holding vision clinics with the Gainesville Community Outreach. When not practicing optometry, Dr. Hu enjoys photography, cooking, traveling, and Gator football.
Dr.
Stephanie Cali Dr Cali completed an externship at Envision Eye Center in Fort Lauderdale where she trained in primary care and specialty contact lenses. She also completed a rotation at Braverman Eye Center where she trained in treatment and management of ocular disease, and earned the Braverman Eye Center Clinical Excellence award. When not practicing optometry Dr Cali enjoys cooking, and going to the beach.
Dr.
V. Mark McClintic Upon graduating optometry school in 1981, Dr. McClintic began practicing with his father, Dr. Virgil McClintic, in Houghton Lake, Michigan. While in private practice until 1996, he was a member of the Michigan, Florida, and American Optometric Associations. During that time he was also an active member of the Lions Club, Rotary International, Kiwanis International, and Fraternal Order of Elks. While living in northern Michigan, he met his wife, Roxanne, and married in 1991. Their daughter, Kaitlyn, was born on December 3, 1994 and is a junior in high school. In April, 1996, Dr. McClintic and family, relocated to Naples, Florida where in private practice with emphasis on geriatric and contact lens patients, until 2010, when he then sold his practice and permanently moved his family to Ocala, Florida to also care for elderly family members. While practicing in Naples, he was a member of Who’s Who Executives and Professionals for 2005-2006. Dr. McClintic then joined Lange Eye Care in March/April of 2010. In his 30 years of practicing, his goal was and still is to give his patients the best quality in vision care, while stressing the importance of maintaining good health habits. In doing so, he recommends regular eye exams, nutritional supplements, protective eyewear, and properly prescribed medications for treating ocular diseases. In his leisure time, Dr. McClintic, enjoys boating, fishing, and traveling to the North Carolina Mountains. His other hobbies include woodworking and home remodeling/restoration.
Patients have access to Dr. Lange and his professional staff seven days a week. Lange Eye Care and Associates even accepts walk-ins at their facilities. If for some reason a patient is unable to make an appointment, they can drop in during normal business hours and be assured of being examined by a qualified professional using the latest diagnostic equipment.
