Dr. Michael P. Lange, founder of Lange Eye Care and Associates and The Lange Eye Institute and one of his Associates, Dr. Nathan Schramm have just passed boards achieving them both the designation of Certified Nutrition Specialist, (C.N.S.), from the American College of Nutrition. This makes Dr. Lange and Dr. Schramm the first in their field to become certified nutritional specialists. Dr. Lange states " this brings more credibility to what we have been offering our patients for many years in nutritional eye care and preventative medicine". We are involved in many nutritional studies that are bringing nutritional science into eyecare. Dr. Lange is also Chairman of the Board of Fortifeye Vitamins where he uses his knowledge in nutrition to develop science based nutraceuticals for the eyecare industry. Spectracell blood tests

The final indicator of heart health as it relates to blood-based omega 3 fatty acids is the Omega 3 Index. The Omega 3 Index is the combined value of two omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) thought responsible for the main physiological effects of omega 3 in a diet. The science behind the Omega 3 Index resulted from the work of Siscovick and Albert, who examined omega 3 levels in populations and then assessed their risk of sudden death. According to Albert’s data, increasing omega 3 blood values from 3.58% to 6.76% was correlated with a 90% reduction in risk of sudden death (a type of heart attack).
